New! Winter Basecamp Adventure with The Harris Center

Winter Wilderness Survival & Hiking Adventure with the Harris Center

Bundle up and join us for a winter wilderness survival and hiking trip at the Harris Center, where On Belay participants (ages 10-14) will learn essential outdoor skills in a safe and supportive environment. This exciting winter adventure will teach participants how to navigate the woods, build shelters and fires, and stay warm in cold weather, all while exploring the beauty of the winter landscape.

During this program, we’ll hike through snow-covered trails, learn survival skills, and discover how to thrive in winter conditions. Our goal is for participants to gain confidence in the outdoors, build teamwork skills, and develop a deeper appreciation for nature. With guidance from experienced instructors, students will also have the chance to practice building shelters, starting fires, and identifying animal tracks in the snow.

This adventure is a fun, hands-on experience where the focus is on learning and having fun with friends in a safe and encouraging setting. No prior wilderness survival or hiking experience is needed, and the program is free thanks to the generous support of our donors. Get ready for an unforgettable winter experience that will leave you with new skills and lasting memories!
